This drawing workshop entailed drawing with paper using a 3D approach. To begin with we experimented using plain A4 paper to see the shapes that could be made using folding cutting and sewing amongst other methods. I enjoyed really using   the material and testing the boundaries of what could be achieved with such an 'everyday' medium. Once I decided on a shape I liked I chose to make many of the same thing, I chose to see how the same folding method would look if I used other papers. I liked how tracing paper looked, as the folds could be seen through other folds, this paper also made very crisp shapes.

This is an image from the dark matters exhibition at the whitworth gallery. The artist is Brass art, using 3D objects, cellophane and a  revolving light source. when I saw this instillation it reminded me of this drawing workshop, due to the cellophane structures creating drawings on the wall. So in a way the artists have drawn using a 3 dimensional approach. If I were to push the drawing I did further I could see how shadows could be created through the tracing paper shapes.
