clothes worn by the factory workers

thoughts on making something physical were discussed this week at tutorial. I'm keen to construct an almost garment, something that resembles clothes but isn't just seen as something to be worn, so that the information displayed isn't distracted from. After the illustration I did last week I felt the idea needed to be more informed, hear are some pictures I feel can help with this.                

Photographs taken in textile mills at the time of the industrial revolution, the women are all wearing floor sweeping dresses with apron layered over the top I like the way they cross over at the back. The men in the top picture are also wearing simple clothes trousers and rolled up shirt sleeves again they are wearing aprons.
