stone carvings found decorating the architecture around Manchester inspired me to make a quilting sample using found fabrics. I feel that the shapes work due to there fluidity. For the top layer   I used chiffon over a thick velvet (once a curtain) I liked the contrast of the thin flat chiffon and the deep, thick textured velvet.
