Trend Boutique

I attended a Lecture given by Sally Denton of Trend Boutique she explained how before anything becomes a 'trend' in physical or aesthetic form, political, economical, social, technological and now environmental factors are considered. I feel that this causes the products that are designed to sell well to those who buy them but also creates a sensitivity to social situations and will encourage discussion of current affairs.

Denton tallked about  McQueen, for Pre fall 2013, influenced by the dress of bishops in order to discuss gender equality.

The trend discussed  by Denton that I found most inspiring was the work made from biodegradable things such as bread, rice and soap.

I found this of such grate interest as in today society there is a damaging throw away culture, I feel that people don't really cherish what they have and don't take time over choosing items as they can so easily replace it, often quite cheaply. A resolution, however daft is to create commodities from entirely biodegradable materials... such as bread!
