This is a picture taken from my sketchbook in response to the research I did on figure ground maps. The image comprises of my foot print beneath painted chiffon. I like how the foot print looks like a figure ground map, appropriate as maps help people get places by foot. Walking is also an idea discussed in the group as possible material for the final film. I do have a tendency to layer materials, but hear it seems appropriate as an installation using layers of fabric had been deliberated amongst the group.
