Rikrit Tiravanija is an artist said to work withing the 'relational aesthetics' movement. His first untitled solo show at 303 Gallery, New York in 1992 entailed a meal cooked by him for the onlookers who had come to view his exhibition. In a sense the artwork was the food but what was really created here was connections between people through the time honored tradition of sharing a meal. I enjoy the the blurring of barriers between experience and art. After all art is there to be experienced.
