visit to the museum

after my first tutorial with Nigel it was decided I needed to go and collect more of my own first had visual research to free up my thinking and stimulate my drawing in order to kick start my project. After a discussion about the things that had influenced me up until this point such as growth and natural structures I decided I would pay a visit to the collections of gems and minerals at the Manchester Museum. I was inspired by the different colours and textures I found in the display cabinets. I liked the reflective qualities the gem stones had and in particular the meteorites, this made me think about impact and the reaction that would happen when something hit the ground with such force, I thought about how I could show this through my drawing and the reactions that could be caused upon paper with bleach and how a reflective quality could be shown.
