A list expressing the contrast between hand made and machine made items. Through discussions had at the 'unconference' I and a few others expressed thoughts about the constant production of modern day industry and the social and environmental consequences of this. I feel that as a maker it is important to reflect upon the impact your creations may have upon the wider world. Especially as a textiles maker, after all the cotton industry has had disastrous consequences upon the environment yet it is so integral to global trade in the modern world. I am interested in the notion of making as a therapy and the lack of need i feel there is for mass production.
